The average adult consumer drinks numerous cups of coffee daily, and depend on them to provide the caffeine to get through the day. But, when looking for a coffee machine, you are faced with a variety of decisions like the style and type. Depending on your daily coffee consumption and how much coffee you drink, you should find the best style to fit your needs and budget.

There are many different types of coffee machines, from the old-fashioned French press, to the one-cup coffee maker, or the set-it-and-forget-it type, to the new pod coffee makers, or maybe even an espresso machine for your home. Your needs and your coffee drinking habits can help you determine which one will be right for you.

The basic French press is one of the most simple, yet elegant coffee machines on the market. Sure, it's basic, but it provides good quality, strong coffee. Mind you, this is not for a layman coffee drinker. Using this machine is simple, pour in the grounds, fill it up with boiling water, stir with a wooden stick or spoon, and let it steep. Take care not to use metal, or you'll end up with a tangy cup of coffee. Once it's sat for the proper amount of time, push steadily down on the press and you'll have a great, pressed cup of coffee.

Another simple version is the one-cup coffee maker. The perfect tool for any college student or bachelor, this machine does require electricity, and is a little more complex than your French press. When you're running around in the morning, pop your travel mug under the spout, throw in the grounds and water, and when you're ready to head out the door you'll have 20 ounces of pure Heaven to get you through the morning. These coffee machines are perfect for your minimal coffee drinker and are priced right.

For the coffee drinker that enjoys a whole pot, a family with lots of small children, or pulling an all-nighter, you're going to need a coffee maker that is full-size. This type of machine comes generally complete with a timer and a grinder. With these features, it is more no-fuss and sets your day up for success. The night before, pour in your beans, pour in your water, and set the timer. You'll be woken up with the aroma of coffee filling your home, and it will make that obnoxious alarm clock a little more bearable.

Growing in popularity daily are the newer pod coffee makers. These coffee machines have taken the work and mess out of making coffee. Using a prepackaged pod filled with coffee grounds, you can choose from a variety of types including decaf, flavored, and espresso. These are ideal for split households that like drinking two different flavors, but don't want to waste two pots. Of course, with the simplicity and ease come an increased cost in pods and the machine itself.

For some, the good 'ole fashioned black brewed coffee just isn't enough; for this crowd, they made the home version of the espresso machine. There are a ton of different options for these machines from the cheaper, simple versions that will make an okay cup of espresso or a latte, to the pricey designer machines for the coffee snobs. Some of these machines can get upwards of a thousand dollars in price, and tend to be complicated. If you're going to spend a thousand dollars on an espresso machine, just find the nearest Starbucks and become a regular customer, the self-taught, home barista never seems to be able to duplicate what the commercial grade machines can do!

Of course, there are a variety of coffee machines for every different type of coffee lover. So, if you're shopping for a new one, take a look at all the various options you have and determine what your coffee drinking style is. Find the one that is best for you, head home, and brew up that delicious liquid. Finding the right coffee machine for you will make that coffee taste the best!
