There's hundreds of skin conditions that can affect people. Unfortunately, while many of these are easily diagnosable and treatable, others are not so easy to identify. As a result, we often aren't able to spot conditions when they arise. Eczema contains many lesser conditions as well as some serious ones with a very general classification. It is comprised of dryness, flaky, peeling, itchiness, bleeding and oozing skin. This is an extensive classification all within the larger category of dermatitis. For proper diagnosis and treatment, always visit a GP, as they have the training, experience and labs to thoroughly treat eczema and dermatitis.

Hereditary

Atopic dermatitis focuses on the individuals, usually asthma-afflicted, of the same family. It's possible for them to pass it genetically from generation to generation, the symptoms being rashes of varying severity around the inside of the elbows and knees, on the neck and on the scalp. It is relatively easy to keep under control provided the individual avoids irritants.

Irritant And Allergic Dermatitis

This form of skin condition is called contact dermatitis and varies from allergic and irritant sub-categories. The allergenic side focuses on many objects that cause flare ups in the skin. Such results can come from contact with certain metals like nickels and copper, but also a variety of plants. Some people even suffer allergic results from sunlight. The irritant side is when the skin comes into contact with various irritants which affect the skin, such as washing liquids and poison ivy.

Dry Skin

This form of dermatitis primarily affects the older individuals, but is not limited to them. The dry skin eventually results in a severity enough to be classed as dermatitis. Furthermore, during dry weather, especially winter, the dry skin can grow even more severe. This results in itchiness and tenderness.

Cradle Cap Variant

Cradle cap is similar to seborrhoeic dermatitis as it affects infants primarily and presents as a form of dandruff. It results in the peeling of the scalp. Furthermore, there is often dry or greasy skin also around the top of the head. The severity is generally low with it being harmless, though severe cradle cap can have serious consequences.

Treatment

As determining the type of eczema can be a very difficult process, it is always advised that you consult a GP. Not only do they have the experience and training necessary, but they also have lab tests at their disposal. Furthermore, they can prescribe the correct treatments that will help clear up some forms of eczema. Alternative treatments may include reducing contact with the irritants. However, under no circumstances should you further irritate the skin by scratching.
Author Resource:- If you're having the symptoms of Eczema, you should look into Eczema cream. There are many creams to choose from that could help you out.
